Ciaran Shannon was proud and talented GAA player who passed away after an accident in  2009 on his way to play for his club Annacurra.
During his life Ciaran also played for clubs in Sligo and Canada, as well as county level for both Wicklow and Sligo. You can read more about Ciarans GAA here


 In 2010 the inaugural Ciaran Shannon 7s Memorial tournament took place in Annacurra where teams from Sligo, Toronto and Wicklow particiapated. The cup has been played for every year since and this year in 2019, 10 years after Ciaran’s passing, the Annacurra Club are hosting the tournament in Ciaran’s memory.

This May 18th, teams from Annacurra, Coolera-Strandhill, Toronto, Tinahely, Aughrim and Ballymanus will participate in the Ciaran Shannon Memorial 7s Tournament.
